A quiet seaside cul-de-sac has become something of a Christmas attraction as neighbours try to out-do each other with their festive lights.

Each year Runton Road in Branksome, Dorset, becomes a Yuletide spectacular with around 36 houses and gardens decked in thousands of glittering bulbs, singing Santas, giant inflatable snowmen, reindeer, sleighs, trains and even a snow machine.

The street even has its own official ceremony to turn on the lights, with wine and carols, on the second weekend in December.
