Voice activation is a function electronic devices like cell phones, GPS units and computer include in their feature list to make it more convenient to interact with them but clothing? Yes, clothing too, at least this is what Sarah Soriano, a new media artist with a love to electrify garments is proposing with the sound reactive Nightgown.
Don’t talk2myShirt but to my nightgown and it will start pulling up it’s hemline. The gown uses the Lilypad Arduino, Flexinol – a shape memory alloy for the lifting of the textile and a microphone to pick up the sound/voice.

Regular socks just can’t compare to the Tired Foot Care Socks. After all, do your ordinary sneaker liners offer sturdy built in footpads for reflexology massage and advanced arch support? In Japan, where shoes are exchanged at the door for cozier footwear as a matter of course, they take their socks very seriously.

Insects have played an important part in the history of human nutrition in Africa, Australia, Asia and the Americas . Hundreds of species have been used as human food. Some of the more important groups include grasshoppers, caterpillars, beetle grubs and (sometimes) adults, winged termites (some of which are very large in the tropics), bee, wasp and ant brood (larvae and pupae) as well as winged ants, cicadas, and a variety of aquatic insects. Ordinarily, insects are not used as emergency food to ward off starvation, but are included as a normal part of the diet throughout the year or when seasonally available. Via [Food-Info.net]

This residential property in Portland took seven years to complete and was focused on realizing the passion of its owner, a music lover, who ‘wanted a house that not only became a part of the natural landscape but, also addressed the flow of music’. Says Robert Harvey Oshatz, the architect behind the project:
“The client desired a house that felt as if it were isolated in the forest and that would allow him to hear the songs of birds.” says Robert Harvey Oshatz Architect on Wilkinson Residence. Via http://www.architecture-page.com

Crapstone is a village in the county of Devon. The village is located on the edge of Dartmoor and is approximately 1 mile from the village of Yelverton, 9 miles from the city of Plymouth and 5 miles from Tavistock.
In 2007 Crapstone was used as the name of the village in a television advert for the RAC. Local residents started a protest group on the social networking site Facebook complaining that the village used in the television advert was not actually Crapstone but a location using its name. One member of the group has stated that the location for filming was near ‘The Pimple’ at Tavistock; however none of this was mentioned in the advert; not even in small print. via Wiki

The partly tree lined setting forms part of a quality residential area within the village of Crapstone, very close to the south west fringe of the Dartmoor National Park, north of Plymouth. Roborough Down, with its wide open space of moorland, lies only about 100 yards away.
The village is about one mile from the National Trust Buckland Abbey and is also about a mile from the larger village of Yelverton which offers a wide range of shops, health centre, recreation ground, churches and other facilities. Yelverton Golf Club is about a mile distant.
Crapstone itself includes a small number of local shops and businesses while at Buckland Monachorum, a mile way, there is a local pub, church and a well respected primary school. The Crescent is possibly the most desirable part of the village, with quiet surroundings and seclusion offered by established trees and mature gardens, which also protect the property. A portfolio of other bizarre place names around Britain and by the looks of it other towns across the world are ctaching on with this great British tradition.
